What safety equipment is required on board a jet ski?

It’s always a good idea to carry safety equipment with you when on board your jet ski. This
includes, but is not limited to a personal flotation device (PFD) or lifejacket, a kill cord or
engine shut-off switch which should be attached to the rider and the jet ski's engine to
prevent accidents if the rider falls off. A waterproof and self-draining storage compartment is
also recommended to carry other vital safety equipment such as flares (if you choose to do
so), a whistle, a first aid kit, and communication devices such as VHF radio or mobile phone.
It's important to check and maintain all safety equipment regularly to ensure it is in good
working order.
